Actona supplies furniture to more than 90 countries from their headquarters in Holstebro on the west coast of Denmark, with additional factories in Ukraine and China. Your Role
The position will be based in Sydney, Australia. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of sales and marketing growth strategies within Australia. The position will drive value creation and continuous growth through forging strong relationships as well as identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Areas of responsibility
- Sales to and servicing of present large-scale customers (volume and star) in AU
- Sales to, marketing and servicing of new large-scale customers (volume and star) in AU
- Sales to and servicing of present independent customers
- Large degree of freedom – to be agreed individually with the Regional Manager.
Key Tasks
- Develop and implement product marketing strategies and planning
- Develop and manage sales / marketing operating budgets
- Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities
- Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
- Review sales to identify opportunities for sales growth
- Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities
- Establish and maintain relationships with strategic partners and key accounts
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
- Creation and implementation of new product launch strategies
- Prepare unique business agreements with new and existing customers in accordance with Actona strategy together with the Regional Manager
- Plan, carry out and follow-up on customer visits/sales at new and existing customers in AU
- Secure that customer specific product development is carried out according to the existing Actona guidelines
- Grow on-line retailers in the AU/NZ
- Make and follow yearly customers wheels including customer sales, marketing planning and forecasting)
- Plan and register calendar activities + customer communication in CRM system
- Project manager on larger customer claims and internal factory projects
- Product selection, pricing, offering and follow up according to customers deadlines
- Daily communication with the Danish back office and ensure the back office is updated with relevant market information
- Responsible for product sheets and other documents are filled out correctly by back office and send to customers on time
- Communication with the Danish and Chinese warehouses, logistics, quality control, legal experts and tech teams within the Actona group
- Continuous updated knowledge on product range

- To further develop the business expansion in AU
- To retain existing clients and expand our market share
- To achieve growing turn-over with new and existing costumers
Mandatory requirements
The following requirements are essential to this critical regional role:
· A proven history of Sales and Account Management on enterprise level within the furniture industry.
· Experience working for a Northern European furniture company at B2B level.
· Extensive experience with Scandinavian furniture and home design.
· Demonstrated experience of having worked within European legislation on trade and compliance.
· Willing to work evening hours daily, and participate in meetings and other activities with the Head Office in Denmark during Danish business hours.
· Willing to travel a minimum of 80-100 days per year locally and internationally.
Preferred qualities
· A proven track history of being a self-starter and self-motivating in similar roles, working out of your home office multiple days per week.
· Having a holistic understanding of product market, supply chain and the value of working cross functional within the company.
· Solid analytical skills, commercial acumen, planning capability and problem-solving ability.
· Ability to manage change, multi-task as well as work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience in project management.
