LETS START WITH THE DAY TO DAY
As an experienced Sales Executive, you should already know what to expect in a role like this, and if you don’t know, this might not be the job for you.
Working from home means there is an incredibly high-level of autonomy and certainly no time for handholding. Whilst you do report into a Business Manager, you are expected to be the one that plans your day. Never worked from home and sounds like a great idea?
Beware, this requires discipline and focus as its an environment that can get the best of anyone that can be easily distracted... but if you can master it then it is FREEDOM!! (I would have inserted a Braveheart meme here if I could.)
What type of person fits the role you ask... well let me tell you!
- This is one for the person that goes one step further for every customer, responding in a timely manner, taking a “customer service” rather than a “sales” approach in all your dealings.
- You work with your colleagues to ensure the group as a whole is successful.
- You follow safety procedures and demonstrate the company values at all times.
- You are the go-to-person in the sales process from initial appointment scheduling all the way through to closing.
- You market map, not only looking at WHO to reach out to, but WHAT sort of products the market is asking for.
- And finally, you are great and keeping track of notes in the CRM… we know that is not a lot of “sales” people’s strong point, but you should understand why it is an integral part of the role.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE WHO
Our client has secured themselves as market leaders over the last two decades, supplying products to some of Australia’s largest corporate and franchise chains. They have exclusive distribution contracts with a number of brands allowing them to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices. Headed up in Sydney, there is no Brisbane office so you will be working from home remaining in close contact with the team in rest of the country.
Whilst we can’t tell you exactly what it is they sell (but we can during your interview with us), we can say that it is the commercial version of a product that you use in your home every day and it’s very cool!
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
We need a self-starter who is highly organised and loves to plan. Someone who is motivated and has some fire in their belly to win, it’s also important that you can balance the fine line between customer service and pushy sales tactics. My client is looking for that person that then the pressure is on they can remain calm, level-headed and work out solutions that benefit all sides in the long run. To be fair, the products are so great they tend to sell themselves so you shouldn’t find yourself in the situation where you have to push anyway.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE?
- A few years experience (2-3 years) in a sales environment, you need to be able to hit the ground running and not have your hand held!
- We would also look at someone with experience as a senior staff member in hospitality (like a Chef).
- Someone who is great with numbers and trends, you can read and use data to put yourself in an advantageous position in the marketplace.
- Ability to work from a home office (the tools of the trade will be supplied to you).
- Strong follow-up and time management skills.
- A driver’s license and reliable car.
WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?
I realise that I am trying to sell a sales role to a sales guru here so lets get into the 'package' and benefits when we chat... what I can tell you is that you are more than handsomely rewarded for your success in the role!
