About the business

Coral Sea Resort are seeking an experienced ‘on-site’ Sales & Marketing Manager. The Sales and Marketing Manager has a pivotal position that is responsible for ensuring our external and internal product is professional, consistent, and attractive.

Our oceanfront venue, Coral Sea Resort, is the most iconic hotel within Airlie Beach.  We are conveniently located along the scenic Bicentennial walkway between the marina and Airlie Beach and are a popular location for Events of all occasions. We are proud to show guests and visitors our wonderful facilities, including our in-house venue - The Rocks - Restaurant, Bar & Pool Club.

Externally we have an attractive and appealing resort to stay, play and explore. Internally we are building a brilliant team; overall creating a stunning, supportive, and sensational place to work with amazing employee benefits and incentives on offer.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Resort Manager, the Sales & Marketing Manager is required to actively attain new business, convert enquiries that organically approach our venue, as well as building on business in our events and functions space. This position is responsible for creating and implementing marketing initiatives to drive customer engagement and business growth at Coral Sea Resort. This position will also be responsible for ensuring our brand image is consistent on product, services, collateral, and online platforms for the Resort.

As Sales & Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Coral Sea Resort core business lines, prospective clients and industry trends to assist with the sales process.
  • Build, strengthen and amplify our brand awareness with all audiences, including consumers of our products and services, employees, stakeholders and communities.
  • Conduct outbound sales and prospecting calls to support current business development initiatives.
  • Identify strategic new business opportunities including partnerships, products and markets.
  • Assist the Resort Manager in preparation of the marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs, and annual budget.
  • Establish and maintain effective and profitable relationships with clients through email, phone and in person interactions.
  • Maintain an accurate database and records throughout the sales pipeline.
  • Within guidelines, tailor solutions for the client to maximise conversion rates.
  • Autonomously manage workload within sales strategy parameters.
  • Attend industry, trade, and networking events on behalf of the organisation, to further develop the business through strategic partnerships.
  • Actively assist in development and implementation of marketing plans and business development projects.
  • Actively grow brand awareness and brand reputation in key target markets.
  • Develop knowledge of current marketing trends, innovative marketing strategies and new marketing platforms and seek ways to implement them across the business.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position where responsible for building relationships with potential clients (via cold calls, networking and other). 
  • Experience in functions and event space is advantageous.
  • Experience across all social media platforms would be preferred.
  • Experience with website programs such as WordPress or similar.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills, attention to detail, can-do and flexible attitude, with a willingness to get the job done
  • Confident, articulate and well-spoken when interacting with guests and fellow employees.
  • Ability to identify problem areas and to use initiative and effective communication skills to resolve these issues.
  • Strong leadership qualities to facilitate effective communication, team-building, motivation, problem-solving and delegation techniques.
  • Well-presented professional image by being well-groomed and providing a strong representation of Coral Sea Resort
