About the Role:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sales & Production Estimator to join their dynamic team. As a Sales & Production Estimator, you will play a vital role in providing accurate material take-offs and estimations for new residential homes. Your responsibilities will encompass the preparation of production estimates for client construction contracts, ensuring the completion of the Bill of Quantities, and meeting service expectations. Responsibilities:
Providing accurate material take-offs and quantities for residential construction projects.
Obtaining, filing, collating, and assessing quotations from suppliers and contractors.
Raising and issuing purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
Liaising with suppliers to stay informed about new and emerging products.
Evaluating and reviewing tender and estimating processes for cost-effectiveness.
Making corrections to BOQs based on feedback from drafting and construction teams.
Assisting in maintaining competitive pricing structures through supplier/contractor negotiations.
Preparing standard BOQs and sales estimates as required.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of the application of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Experience in providing accurate material take-offs and quantities.
Proficiency in obtaining, assessing, and collating quotations from suppliers and contractors.
Familiarity with purchase order procedures and the issuance of Margin Declaration forms.
Proactive approach in staying informed about new and emerging products in the industry.
Ability to evaluate and review tender and estimating processes for cost-effectiveness.
Attention to detail to make necessary corrections to BOQs.
Effective negotiation skills for maintaining competitive pricing structures.
Experience in preparing standard BOQs and sales estimates.
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and relevant industry software (such as Databuild, Therefore, Onsite Companion, Bluebeam, Client Manager).
