Job description

Our client is a well-established company who are passionate and committed to ethical meat production and sustainable farming practices. In line with their growth strategy, the opportunity for a Sales Professional has arisen. Charged with developing sales, managing key customer accounts and brand promotion in the marketplace, this is an integral, hands-on role.

This role is suited to a successful and self-motivated and enthusiastic Sales Professional and offers the incentive of being part of a small team on a growth trajectory. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide input into creating efficiencies around sales processes and developing related systems in this new and exciting position. 

Based in the Geelong office and on the road 2 days out of the week, key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and execute a range of sales strategies to identify customers and leads and increase the market share for meat products across relevant channels.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements whilst at all times ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the quality and features. 
  • Use CRM to process orders and capture customer information to help address enquiries, resolve issues and deliver orders in a timely manner. 
  • Collaborate with the Internal Sales Consultant to achieve targets are to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on new prospects, presenting the results with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team. 
  • Conduct market research including analysis of sales for market evaluations and identification of growth opportunities for marketing and strategy development. 
  • Other responsibilities include; contributing to the business strategy via planning and data management, operating within revenue and budgetary boundaries, maintaining awareness and knowledge of relevant industry laws and regulations.

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven track-record in similar sales position utilising a CRM or similar system.  Experience with Fresho or Salesforce is advantageous.
  • The ability to build, manage and develop relationships across a diverse group of key stakeholders.
  • You are a decisive and solution focused person with the ability to think strategically.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to complete tasks and deadlines as required.
  • Accuracy in relation to all aspects of the role.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products including intermediate Excel skills. 
  • A Degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Marketing or a related field is highly desirable.
