Tasfresh Fresh & Specialty Foods have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated high achiever to join our sales team servicing customers across northern Tasmania.
Tasfresh is Tasmania’s most diverse wholesale food distribution company offering our valued customers a product range spanning fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat and poultry, frozen food, bulk and general grocery lines, beverages, confectionery, crisps, dairy, smallgoods, specialty lines, cleaning chemicals and supplies, personal hygiene as well as commercial and retail packaging. Servicing an enormously diverse customer base from caterers, sports clubs and corner shops to franchise chains, restaurants, hotels and supermarkets, Tasfresh has something for everyone.
This role will deal primarily with the sale of fresh poultry, meat and produce.
To be the successful applicant you will need to possess the ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively while working unsupervised. You must also be able to problem solve on the run, have a proven ability to achieve results and possess outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
The primary role of the position is to increase sales of the companies products to existing and new customers.
The successful applicant will need to undertake all tasks required in the management and improvement of the company’s relationship with its customers. This includes such duties as actively working to increase the range and quantity of product supplied to customers, identifying and pursuing new customers, introducing new products and working through customers’ issues and problems.
The holder of this position will be a part of the public face of the company and as such needs to be at all times professional in approach, appearance and manner.
Based at our Launceston (Prospect) warehouse the successful applicant will spend a significant amount of their time interacting with customers via phone and physically calling on customers at their place of business.
Tasfresh operates as a team in which input is sought and valued from all team members. In the course of undertaking their responsibilities sales staff are actively encouraged to have input into improving the efficiency of the company’s operations.
Prior sales experience is essential, relevant experience in the food distribution industry will be a significant advantage.
The remuneration package for the position will be negotiated based on experience. Use of a company car and phone will form part of the package.
