Who we are 

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.

Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.

About the Opportunity 

As the SAP Technical Services Lead at AGIG, you will oversee the technical aspects of our SAP systems, including Basis, integration, security, development, software currency, and updates. You will work closely with internal IT teams and third-party vendors to ensure the reliable operation and performance of our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP Basis administration, integration, security, development, and project management.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the Technical Services for AGIG's SAP landscape, including Basis administration, system integration, security management, custom development, and software updates.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex SAP issues, escalations, and service disruptions.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams and third-party vendors to ensure the reliable operation, performance optimisation, and security compliance of AGIG’s SAP system.
  • Manage vendor SAP Basis activities, including system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Oversee the integration of SAP with other enterprise systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
  • Develop and implement SAP security policies, roles, and authorisations to protect AGIG's sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and execute SAP software updates, including version upgrades and service pack installations, in collaboration with IT teams and vendors.
  • Monitor and analyse SAP performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on the latest SAP trends, technologies, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions and enhancements for AGIG.

About You

  • Proven track record leading SAP technical teams and/or projects in a complex environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, Technical Services, and project management roles, preferably in a complex SAP environment
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in SAP Basis administration, system integration, security management, custom development, and software updates
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and integration with other enterprise applications
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles, practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a focus on delivering business-driven SAP solutions.
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • SAP certification (e.g. SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. ITIL, CISSP) is plus.
  • Experience working in the energy or infrastructure sector is highly desirable.
  • Experience in ServiceNow for the administration and reporting of support tickets desirable.
