The Town is seeking a highly motivated and suitably experienced Community Development OfficerClubs and Capacity to join the team in a full-time permanent capacity.
Your new role
As part of the Events, Arts and Funding team, the Community Development OfficerClubs and Capacity position will focus on engaging with and building the capacity, success and future sustainability of sporting Clubs and community organisations.
As a new position in the Town, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver a range of new and exciting strategies and projects, underpinned by thorough research and wide-ranging community consultation, to build and enhance sporting Clubs and community groups capacity.
To be successful in this position, you will need to be self-motivated, with highly developed relationship management skills and project management skills, and the ability to manage a range of stakeholders and projects concurrently.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Qualification and/or relevant experience in Community Development, Sports Management, Sports Development, or Health Promotion.
- Highly developed interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to establish positive working relationships with various stakeholder groups such as sporting clubs, community groups and other business units of Council.
- Ability to develop and manage projects of various elements of complexity involving people and resources concurrently.
- Demonstrated initiative, judgment and decision-making skills requiring analysis of data to reach decisions and/or determine progress.
- Ensure information provided is correct, factual, timely, customer focused and in accordance with relevant legislation, council policies, procedures, and processes.
