Your new companyYour new company is a leading community services provider that runs a variety of important social programs across the region to support vulnerable people within our local community. They have an opportunity to add a SCHADS 5 Intake & Assessment Officer to their team in Townsville.
Your new role
Offer professional guidance and relevant details to staff and stakeholders, ensuring they are well-informed and empowered to make service-related choices.
Work closely with senior leadership and program management across the organisation to deliver targeted and comprehensive care to clients.
Serve as a central point for referrals and service responses, liaising with external stakeholders including the Queensland Police Service and online enquiries.
Manage and deliver Intake and Assessment services, including pre-service safety checks and risk screening.
Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve program goals. Assist with new staff induction and participate in case discussions.
Take the initiative to review and enhance intake and assessment functions, policies, and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
A relevant degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences.
Experience in client triage and intake services, and conducting risk assessments related to suicidal ideation, domestic violence, and child protection.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to network effectively with professionals, both internal and external.
Current Driver's Licence and be eligible for a Disability Worker Screening and a Working with Children Blue Card.
