The Ipswich Head to Health (HTH) Centre, funded by Darling Downs and West Morton PHN, offers inclusive, low-stigma access points for mental health services, providing assessment, triage, warm referrals, and immediate support. It caters to individuals at various levels of need, including those in crisis, fostering an innovative, agile, and flexible approach to service delivery.
The opportunity:
We currently have a permanent full-time Senior Intake & Assessment Officer position available for our Ipswich Head to Health centre.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will involve actively engaging, screening, assessing, and referring clients, with the aim of establishing positive connections with a wide variety of individuals and their support networks. This approach is essential for providing comprehensive, recovery-focused care that addresses the holistic needs of our clients and their loved ones.
Working under the guidance of the Clinical Lead, you'll collaborate with dedicated clinical and operational teams to enhance the centres reputation in both local and broader communities. Additionally you will oversee and operationally manage the Intake and Assessment Officers within the hub and supporting the development of this team.

As our Senior Intake and Assessment Officer you will be:
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, including evaluating suicide and violence risks, and devising action plans to mitigate these risks.
- Delivering brief interventions, counselling services, and formulating treatment plans.
- Facilitating and monitoring the integration and coordination of care for clients, actively participating in case review meetings.
- Assist the Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator in promoting Head to Health at community events.
- Provide clinical and operational supervision to the Head to Health team.

Were also looking for:
- Tertiary level qualifications in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline that provides a sound understanding and knowledge of assessing and working with people at risk.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment, coordinating client care.
- Experience in the mental health sector and a broad understanding of the challenges and experiences of people managing their mental health, fostering a recovery and strength-based approach.
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health, including related evidence-based interventions and clinical practice.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of clients, colleagues, and partner organisations.
