Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking a casual Strength & Conditioning coach for Term 1 - 4 of 2024 to work with our senior school students involved in our SELECT Sport specialist programs of Football, Netball and Volleyball and other regional / state level student athletes. Our strength and conditioning sessions are held before school and during 1st break of the college timetable.
Your duties will include (but not be limited to:
- Prepare and implement suitable strength & conditioning sessions and programs for secondary school aged sport students.
- Coach the development of fundamental movement patterns and technique
- Maximize the effectiveness and student engagement in training sessions.
- Manage small groups of students in a school gym environment while ensuring student and staff safety.
- Ensure the appropriate use of Redeemer gym and sporting equipment, and college facilities always and the maintenance of any equipment.
The successful applicant will ideally have the following skills and qualities:
- Bachelor of Exercise Science (or similar) and minimum Level 1 ASCA accreditation
- Experience in strength and conditioning program design, implementation, and management for Youth age athletes
- Good knowledge of injury prevention and management strategies
- The ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
- Sound organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with technology-based training tools and programs
- Have student safety at the forefront of everything you do during all sessions.
- Display discretion, confidentiality, honesty and integrity in their relationships with all students and college sport staff
- Proactively communicate with individual students and sport staff as necessary to always present the College in the best possible light.
- Be positive in support of the college's traditions and Christian ethos.
