YOUR ROLE
The School Infrastructure Officer will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a capacity to realise that mission in the context of the MACS Melbourne Archdiocese Strategic School Provision Plan. They are responsible for developing effective strategies and policies that promote the delivery of high-quality educational spaces. They will work closely with individual schools to review and plan their infrastructure needs, ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet both present and future requirements. The School Infrastructure Officer plays a key role in enhancing the learning environment and supporting the educational goals of MACS schools and the delivery of the Melbourne Archdiocese Strategic School Provision Plan.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Deliver the objectives of the MACS Melbourne Archdiocese Strategic School Provision Plan
- Assist schools with master planning their campuses. This assistance will include:
- the development of new master plans
- evaluation of existing master plans
- developing design briefs
- appointment of architects, and
- endorsement of master plan reports.
- Provide direct support to schools in identifying funding opportunities for the development and maintenance of School Infrastructure through grants, capital development fund loans, and other sources of funding
- To develop best practice strategies to aid the development and ongoing strategic development planning of schools (i.e., master plans, grant applications, guideline documents, etc.)
- Assist in the delivery of a system wide School Infrastructure database (SPIDA) to collate, report, and manage School Infrastructure data
- Assist in the training and support of schools
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated successful experience with school asset management or master planning delivery such as architecture, urban planning, or project management
- Demonstrated experience and ability in the development of program guidelines, policy, and supporting documentation to aid schools’ infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience in identifying issues, improving processes, and implementing change
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to:
- prepare reports, briefings, and policy documents
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including, all levels within MACS, school boards, principals, government agencies, and architectural/design firms
- Manage and report on master plans and the strategic infrastructure requirements of schools.
- High level knowledge and skills in working with relevant software packages, especially within the Microsoft Office package
- Ability to work well autonomously as well as within a team environment.
Salary for this position is $134,385 per annum exclusive of superannuation. This is 1.0FTE ongoing position.
