Samson Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a friendly and dedicated School Officer to join their team.
The School Officer key responsibilities is to aid the Manager Corporate Services with administering the financial resources of the school. The successful applicant would also assist with the support of administrative school staff by developing induction programs and materials for school support staff, and the coordination of relief staff.
The ideal applicant should possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment. Sound verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service is highly desirable to succeed in this role.
The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, reliable, have a sense of humour and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. You will ideally provide a high level of customer service in all matters of student services in a timely and efficient manner. The successful applicant will be a 'face' of Student Services at the front desk - meeting and greeting students, staff and triaging issues and concerns.
Samson PS are situated in the Fremantle area, next to Kardinya and Coolbellup. We offer a diverse teaching and learning program from Kindy to Year 6. We have specialist teachers in Music, Visual Arts, Sciences, Indonesian and Physical Education. Samson Primary also offers a Specialised Learning Program for Students with Autism.
Student placements into Samson PS are eagerly sought by parents from surrounding districts, due to its reputation as a quality school. The school uniform is worn proudly and the exemplary behaviour of its students is given constant and well deserved recognition from the community at large.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
