About Us

Somerville House is a day and boarding school for girls established in 1899, providing exceptional education for students from Pre-Prep through to Year 12, with a co-educational Pre-Prep offering. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and engaging individual to join the Student Wellbeing team as School Psychologist on a part-time, term-time basis from Term 2, 2024 (15 April 2024). This vacancy will be job share arrangement with one of our current School Psychologists

As a collaborative and professional team member, the School Psychologist will work Thursday and Friday’s each week between the operational hours of 8.00am and 4.30pm. 

About You 

  • Are you an experienced Student Counsellor or Psychologist who has worked within a School environment and/or experience with children and adolescents? 
  • Do you have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to enable liaison with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders? 
  • Do you possess strong organisational and record-keeping skills? 
  • Have strong familiarity with current thinking and research regarding adolescent girls?

This middle management position will be for a candidate that has have strong experience in providing evidence-based care and support to students from Prep to Year 12 with psychological and health issues relatable to the development, learning outcome and wellbeing of students.

It is a mandatory requirement to hold the appropriate tertiary qualifications, registration with Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA) and a Paid Blue Card for working with children.
