Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting senior school staff and support services with well being outcomes
- Using evidence based tools to improve the outcomes for mental health issues, behavioural concerns and the impact of life events on the student body
- Work with teachers and parents to understand both the home and classroom environment
- Refer students to external services if required
- Providing ongoing learning to academic staff about psychological issues and develop relevant programs and techniques to implement
- Providing education & support to parents through information sessions about child and adolescent development
You will need:
- A degree in Psychology with post grad qualifications in education OR child/adolescent psychology, hands on experience in this field will be highly regarded, SCHOOL EXPERIENCE IDEAL!
- Relevant work experience and registration with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team together with respect for highly sensitive and confidential information
- To have respect and support for the values and ethos of a faith based organisation
