An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Grade 1 or 2 Scientist to join our Microbiology Department.
About the Microbiology Department:
Microbiology utilises state of the art automation and technologies as well conventional manual methodology to generate clinically valuable information for diagnosis and treatment of infections.
About the role:
This position is suitable for a candidate(s) with relevant qualifications and knowledge, with experience in a diagnostic medical microbiology laboratory. This is position is for a Grade 1 or Grade Medical Scientist in Microbiology, full time
Essential knowledge and skills
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:
- Relevant experience in a diagnostic medical microbiology laboratory performing specimen set up, reading and interpreting microscopy and microbiological cultures and isolate identification and antimicrobial susceptibly testing.
- Good communication skills & ability to work efficiently both independently & in a team
- Availability for rotating 24/7 shifts including public holidays and weekends
- Experience with use of various microbiology laboratory automation systems will be highly considered
