AddressThe successful candidate will undertake diagnostic testing and related duties across multiple disciplines following Pathology Queensland established accredited protocols and standards within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent scientific supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the delivery of scientific judgement within a multidiscipline laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a multidisciplinary service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
- Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvements activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- The successful applicant must hold at least a relevant tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Queensland Health staff are required to participate on shifts that may cover 24/7, on-call or weekend roster arrangements.

- It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
- Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
- Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July 2016 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is with a different Queensland Health entity (i.e. one HHS to another HHS, department to a HHS, or HHS to department).
