We are a Fisherman’s Co-op that is the perfect one-stop seafood shop and an excellent way to purchase the local seafood. The local fishing fleet ensures a fresh supply of seafood throughout the region, especially known for the excellent supply of Southern Rock Lobster (live or freshly cooked), scallops, flake and snapper. Fisherman’s Co-op also stocks the best available fish from wholesale markets, to supplement the excellent local catches (and inclement weather) so there is an abundance of Tassie salmon, S.A or Tassie oysters and NSW prawns. To apply you will need to have a minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in Manufacturing or Food Processing, have competent knife skills - filleting experience highly advantageous, be enthusiastic, have attention to detail, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to working within strict hygiene requirements, self-motivated, the ability to work independently and as part of a team and a minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in Manufacturing or Food Processing. We are offering $65,000 – $70,000 /year + superannuation.
Duties
• Selecting fish from the catch / purchase for processing.
• Cleaning fish, gill, gutting and scaling, filleting/ deboning fish.
• Preparing portions for wholesale and retail markets.
• Preparing retail area for displaying of fish.
• Stock Control monitoring and stock rotation.
• Compliance with refrigeration and hygiene regulations in order to follow quality control standards to ensure
freshness and safety
• Operate machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
