The College is currently seeking two enthusiastic Secondary School Mathematics Teachers to join our team from Term 3 2024.  

Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Secondary School Teacher of Mathematics for Semester 2 2024.

This role will teach across Years 7 to 12, including ATAR and will see you join a highly experienced and collaborative team. The specific classes will be tailored to suit the experience of the incumbents and the best interest of the department.

Part-Time (0.6 FTE) Maths Mentor Coordinator, ongoing 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovated Mathematics Teacher to oversee the Maths Mentor Program at the College. We are looking for someone to inspire, to challenge and to inform students and staff of the wonders of Mathematics and where it can lead to.

To be successful you will have a passion for Mathematics and the ability to extend students' mathematical skills and understanding beyond the traditional curriculum. This position may suit candidates working at a tertiary level or those interested in a non-traditional education role.

Maths Mentoring occurs before and after school and on a withdrawal basis during the school day. Whilst there is some flexibility in the role, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be on campus 3 or 4 days a week.

As a teacher at Penrhos, you will play a significant role in planning, delivering and reflecting on the learning experiences in your classroom as well as providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment that is essential for positive student wellbeing. We are inspired by engaging, challenging and empowering our students to be the best learners they can be.   • A Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Post Graduate Diploma of Education 
  • Current TRBWA Membership including a Working with Children card (WWC)

  • Commitment to providing students with a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment.

The following essential criteria must be addressed with evidence in the cover letter document: 

  1. Demonstrated excellence in teaching Secondary School Mathematics across a range of ability levels based on the Western Australian Curriculum.
  2. An academic record which demonstrates an ability to foster personal best and the opportunity to achieve academic excellence. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning experiences to cater for the learning needs of all students.
  4. Ability to integrate technology into curriculum delivery to provide opportunity for students to develop 21st Century Skills.
