ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Situated in the CBD of coastal Mackay, Kutta Mulla Gorinna (KMG) School caters for a very diverse range of students from Years 7-12, many of whom have had interrupted schooling and are often behind their age or year-level peers. Our goal is that every student can flourish through a positive environment and quality education.
The aim of our Mission is to improve the educational and social outcomes of the most vulnerable and disengaged young people by having a holistic, collaborative, community approach to learning. KMG School ensures that students have an awareness of social justice principles and demonstrated respect for others.
Our school considers the enrolment of students disengaged from schooling irrespective of their cultural background. However, KMG deepens students’ lives by developing in them an understanding of the essential features of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, including their special connection to the land and sea and their commitment to family and community.
