About the role - We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced teacher to join our school community teaching across Years 7-9 Drama and Years 7-11 English. This is a full-time contract position commencing on the 1st June 2024 until 27th June 2025.
As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
- Support the liturgical and prayer life of the school
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the English and Drama Australian Curriculum from Year 7-10 and the General English Senior Syllabus
- An ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers
- An ability to attend in detail to innovative and creative practices
- An ability to identify and cater for different learning styles
- Competency in integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment
- A willingness to contribute to the school community through involvement in co-curricular activities
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
At BCE our teachers are required to:
- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
