One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Security Advisor to join a security branch that is responsible for all aspects of cyber security within the department, providing risk, accreditation and policy advice. The role will be based from Canberra as well as hybrid working arrangements. The successful Security Advisor will be offered a 12 month contract with 2 x 12 month extension options.
The successful Security Advisor will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Assist with the management and implementation of the department’s IT security strategies
- Assist with the planned migration of services to the cloud, by managing cyber risk to support the delivery of secure systems and services for the department
- Assist in managing cyber risk to support the delivery of secure departmental systems and services
- Developing, maintaining and reviewing security requirements, design and testing documentation, technical specifications and other documentation related to ICT systems
The successful Security Advisor will have experience in the following:
- Comprehensive knowledge of ICT and Cyber Security technologies and best practices
- 5+ years’ experience in similar role within a medium/large size organisations.
- Certification and/or membership to relevant professional organisations including certification in any of the following: CISSP, Security+, CISA, CISM, SABSA, GIAC and SANs
