Our client is a dynamic and innovative Department specialising in cutting-edge security solutions. They are seeking a skilled and motivated ICT Security Engineer to join their team and contribute to the protection of critical systems.
As an ICT Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Analyse and report on the security posture of our systems.
- Verify that minimum security requirements are in place for applications.
- Conduct security reviews and identify gaps in security architecture.
- Plan and recommend modifications or adjustments based on exercise results or system environment.
- Assess and implement adequate access controls based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of cyber security technical controls (CIS, ASD), frameworks (NIST-CSF, ISO27000, ISM), and best practices (Microsoft security practices).
- Experience in the implementation (systems engineering) and maintenance (system administration) of security infrastructure and solutions.
- Proven experience in providing cyber security risk assessment, assurance, and reporting activities.
- Familiarity with tools for identifying vulnerabilities, providing remediation strategies, and qualifying recommendations.
- Skilled in performing architecture reviews to identify security gaps and propose actionable recommendations.
- High attention to detail, excellent communication skills with stakeholders and clients, and proficiency in technical writing.
- Australian Citizenship and NV1 clearance
Desirable Criteria:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- Experience with cloud environments, such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Tactical, operational, and strategic level cyber threat intelligence skills.
- Familiarity with threat modelling methodologies and techniques (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK framework).
- Understanding of current challenges and opportunities in uplifting the cyber maturity of OT and ICS environments.
