Your new role 

Our client is a dynamic and innovative Department specialising in cutting-edge security solutions. They are seeking a skilled and motivated ICT Security Engineer to join their team and contribute to the protection of critical systems.

As an ICT Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our systems. Your responsibilities include:

1. Analyse and report on the security posture of our systems.
2. Verify that minimum security requirements are in place for applications.
3. Conduct security reviews and identify gaps in security architecture.
4. Plan and recommend modifications or adjustments based on exercise results or system environment.
5. Assess and implement adequate access controls based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.

What you'll need to succeed 

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Demonstrated knowledge of cyber security technical controls (CIS, ASD), frameworks (NIST-CSF, ISO27000, ISM), and best practices (Microsoft security practices).
2. Experience in the implementation (systems engineering) and maintenance (system administration) of security infrastructure and solutions.
3. Proven experience in providing cyber security risk assessment, assurance, and reporting activities.
4. Familiarity with tools for identifying vulnerabilities, providing remediation strategies, and qualifying recommendations.
5. Skilled in performing architecture reviews to identify security gaps and propose actionable recommendations.
6. High attention to detail, excellent communication skills with stakeholders and clients, and proficiency in technical writing.
7. Australian Citizenship and NV1 clearance 

Desirable Criteria:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:

1. Experience with cloud environments, such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
2. Tactical, operational, and strategic level cyber threat intelligence skills.
3. Familiarity with threat modelling methodologies and techniques (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK framework).
4. Understanding of current challenges and opportunities in uplifting the cyber maturity of OT and ICS environments.
