DFP Recruitment is partnering with the Federal Government to seek a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer for an exciting opportunity within the Cyber Security and Networks Branch of the Management and Technology Division. This role focuses on delivering engineering and administrative services for security infrastructure tools and platforms. The successful candidate will specifically serve as a Splunk SIEM Engineer, enhancing Cyber Security monitoring services and technology to support the Security Operations Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engineering and administrative services for security infrastructure.
- Provide Cyber Security monitoring services.
- Support the Security Operations Centre with advanced Splunk SIEM capabilities.
- Splunk Foundations Training: Minimum Foundations 2.
- Experience: At least 2 years in a high-volume enterprise environment with Splunk.
- Linux Expertise: Minimum 5 years, preferably with RHEL.
- Virtualisation Technologies: Experience in an enterprise environment.
- Cloud Technologies: Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Global WAN: Experience in the context of Splunk SIEM.
- Splunk Products: Proficiency with Splunk SOAR and UBA products.
- Security Clearance: NV2 clearance.
- Splunk Cloud Offerings: Familiarity with Splunk cloud services.
- Coordination & Organisational Skills: Strong capability to manage tasks and teams.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to convey complex technical issues to non-technical personnel.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Problem Solving: Capacity to analyse and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
- Pressure Management: Ability to perform under pressure.
- Independence: Self-driven with the ability to work without supervision.
- Liaison & Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills and sound judgment.
- Cyber Security Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current techniques, threats, and vulnerabilities to mitigate Cyber Security risks.
