We are looking for a Security & Safety Officer to play an integral role at the Bulk Liquids Berth, Port Botany.
This is a permanent part time position, offering up to 35 hours per week in a rostered arrangement (twelve hour shifts).
The ideal candidate will have skills/qualifications as per below :
- NSW Security licence
- Marine Security Guard training
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
- Tanker familiarisation
- Fire fighting and BA training
- Forklift license
An understanding of shipping industry and cargo operations would also be advantageous.
What will the role involve:
- Access control – the area is under a Maritime Security Plan (MSP)
- Security surveillance of berth area;
- Setting of the fire system in accordance with the requirements to control the product being discharged
- Initiation of response in the event of an incident or emergency including operating firefighting equipment
- Operate life preservation equipment at berth (BA sets, life rings, fire systems, alarm systems), including lift and carry of 15kg equipment.
