About the Role
We are seeking a permanent full-time person to fulfil our role of Accountant for an established family company based in Welshpool.
This is a pivotal position that requires a highly organised and diligent skillset accountable for accurate financial reporting and managing the group’s financial affairs including daily accounting functions, reports, and compliance requirements.
The role includes some operational responsibilities in supporting the Managing Director in strategic development and initiatives.
It’s ideal for an individual seeking a broad role where you apply your skills to the group’s operations.
The company is involved in property investment and agri-business, and having real estate industry knowledge will be desirable. We have an informal approach and family business company culture.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:
- Managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial and Management Accounting functions.
- Process transactions (accounts receivable, accounts payable MYOB preferred) and prepare month-end reconciliations.
- Generate invoices (REST property software) and inter-entity transactions as needed.
- Step in for end-to-end processing of weekly payroll during leave of payroll officer.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Monthly income and expenditure accruals.
- Financial analysis and reporting.
- Managing and overseeing the company’s financial systems.
- Preparation of BAS Reports / FBT / Payroll and Superannuation.
- Ensure effective internal controls, insurances and compliance obligations are met.
- Provide information and analyses to enable effective decision-making.
The company has diverse business interests so from time to time there will be expectations to perform different tasks as required.
In the past 25 years this role has been fulfilled by two individuals and similarly we are seeking someone to work with us for the long term, who is dedicated and self-disciplined with ability to work in a team environment and also autonomously.

ABOUT YOU
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Developed organisation and communication skills.
- Experienced outlook and Microsoft office working preferably with MYOB and REST software systems.
- High level of confidentiality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- National Police Clearance
- Current Driver’s License
