Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Accountant will support the AFC Department to provide professional, efficient and systematic processing of all FGJV Accounts function.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance or any other related Commerce field
• White card
Experience:
• 10 years' experience within an accounting department
• At least 2 years' experience in a senior role
• Preferred experience within a construction (infrastructure) environment
Required Competencies:
• Knowledge of SAP an HM
• Sound understanding of financial accounting concepts and Australian Accounting Standards as well as IAS/IFRS and Italian GAAP
• Banking system knowledge
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Sound problem solving skills
• Ability and desire to coach and guide subordinate team members
• Strong Initiative and proactive nature
• Key collaborative skills
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills
• Sound time management skills
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- The Senior Accountant will carry out the accurate and timely collection, processing and reporting of accounts payable and financial data.
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounting information within the Snowy 2.0 Project by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions to ensure efficient and accurate financial information.
- Daily transaction posting and book-keeping through SAP;
- Preparation and review of the executive budget at the end of each month, year or following a substantive change
- Financial accounting;
- Bank reconciliation;
- Cash flow management;
- General Ledger reconciliation;
- Internal audit compliance;
Coach junior staff in their roles
