About the role
In this role, you will provide administrative and support services to the Strategic Implementation Unit, with a particular focus on the provision of an efficient and effective Planning Scheme Amendment service. The position is also the first point of contact for, and an information provider to, the Unit’s internal and external customers.

Work type: Permanent full time
Classification:Band 5 ($76,355 - $86,617 pa plus super)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the processing of planning scheme amendments including giving public notice, lodging advertising, exhibition, collating submissions, Panel Hearing preparation, updating the website and invoicing and payment of fees.
  • Be the initial contact person for the Unit and direct enquiries as appropriate, including phone and counter enquiries.
  • Create and manage internal systems so as to ensure that the Unit’s corporate operational requirements are met.
  • Ensure key documents are stored and processed on Council’s corporate record management system.
  • Maintain and prepare up to date letter templates, forms, spreadsheets, databases and procedures.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly amendment status reports and other reports as directed.
  • Assist with the processing of Council reports including liaison with other Administration Officers.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have relevant senior administrative experience including account keeping and budget skills.

Essential Experience:

  • Highly developed computer skills and an ability to learn and adapt to other computer applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Oracle, HPRM Trim (ReX), Pathway, Skype, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Superior organisational skills and capacity to effectively plan, organise and manage own time to achieve targets within a set timetable.
  • Pro-active approach to undertaking work and an ability to identify opportunities.
  • Sound communication skills and experience in being the initial point of contact.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and contribute to a positive team environment.
