About the opportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Administration Officer, Research to join our esteemed Faculty of Education. This is a pivotal role in providing comprehensive administrative support to various facets of research administration across the Faculty. Core responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the administrative and financial aspects of research projects, including grant preparation, invoicing, and reconciliation. Serve as a key liaison, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with agreements and streamline contract management processes.
- Interpret and analyse research performance data for benchmarking purposes, providing executive support to Faculty leadership in coordinating research portfolios, including organizing meetings and ensuring implementation of agreed actions.
- Review and recommend improvements to research guidelines and procedures, ensuring alignment with university policies. Coordinate research events and engagement activities, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to promote research initiatives.
- Liaise with the Graduate School to monitor HDR milestones and update research communications platforms for increased engagement. Collaborate with faculty staff to ensure effective dissemination of research-related information.
Alongside a relevant degree or equivalent experience and background in research administration, you will be passionate about fostering academic excellence and supporting innovative research projects, with a comprehensive understanding of research (including HDR) policies and procedures. More specifically, you will have:
- Experience in reviewing complex research funding rules and agreements, providing advice, maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, and regularly reporting on expenditure against budgets.
- High-level problem solving, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret data, and develop and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.

- HEW Level 6. The base salary ranges from $88,301 - $96,849 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $113,313.
