Senior Administration Officer
The position is Part-time (working 16 hours a week) with the span of hours to be negotiated between the successful candidate and the organisation. The primary location of work is Latrobe Council.
In this role, you will be instrumental in providing effective and efficient office and administrative support to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and elected members including tasks such as managing schedules, coordinating events, liaising with stakeholders, and facilitating communication.
The ideal candidate will be someone who provides high-level administrative support to the Mayor, ensuring the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the Mayor’s office.
Selection Criteria
- Certificate IV in Business or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of skills, experience and training.
- Excellent organisational skills with evidence of high-level attention to detail and an ability to achieve outcomes within deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in the effective coordination of events, functions, itineraries and travel requirements indicating an ability to work independently, meet deadlines and use sound judgement.
- Proven ability to deal with sensitive and / or personal matters with complete confidentiality.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in providing executive support including (but not limited to) diary management, records management, compliance and prioritising workflow.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that foster inclusive and consultative practices and provides responsive and effective customer service.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.
- An understanding of local government including the preparation of agendas and minutes within the guidelines of the legislative requirements under the Local Government Act 1993 and associated regulations (desirable).
Latrobe municipality is located in the north-west of Tasmania and shares a municipal boundary with Kentish Council, Devonport City Council, West Tamar Council and Meander Valley Council.
