About the role

We are seeking a Senior Industrial & Employee Relations (I&ER) Advisor to facilitate accurate and strategic I&ER expertise aligned to the I&ER Team’s objectives. You will have the opportunity to identify and analyse I&ER risks and opportunities, including advising on solutions and facilitating outcomes as required. You will lead initiatives that advance business unit operational and strategic outcomes consistent with the broader business objectives and I&ER Standard.

This position can be based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide advice and support to leaders on I&ER matters, including compliance and interpretation across the suite of industrial relations regulatory platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industrial instruments, policies, procedures and statutory provisions through the completion of audits.
  • Analyse I&ER risks, opportunities and solutions before facilitating outcomes to support the resolution of I&ER issues.
  • Lead planning and negotiation of industrial instruments including enterprise agreements, local agreements and contract carrier agreements aligned to approved mandates and business objectives.
  • Development and facilitation of relevant I&ER training to support capability and empowerment of the People Team and Operational Leaders.
  • Represent Team Global Express in dealings with union representatives and at Fair Work Commission conciliations and conferences.
  • Review and maintain policies and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance with industrial obligations.
  • Regularly engaging in forums, maintaining networks and liaising with third parties to keep the I&ER Team up-to-date of changes, trends, policies, legislation, case law and strategies in I&ER management.

What you’ll bring:

The role requires someone driven, passionate, organised, and tenacious. 

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources, law, industrial relations or similar experience/related tertiary qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Industrial & Employee Relations roles.
  • Think strategically and translate this into leading practical operational outcomes that include analysing and explaining the I&ER risk profile.
  • The ability to lead and influence enterprise agreement negotiations with employee organisations on behalf of TGE.
  • Advanced knowledge of Australian employment law.
  • Experience in advocacy before the Fair Work Commission in conciliations and conferences.
  • Advanced knowledge of in the suite of industrial relations regulatory platforms relevant to business operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of case management processes to ensure compliance with applicable industrial instruments, policies, procedures and statutory provisions to support the resolution of issues.
