About the Role
The Queensland Department of Education's physiotherapy services support schools to remove or reduce barriers to student attendance, participation and learning, by supporting schools to identify and implement reasonable adjustments.
A number of part-time permanent and temporary vacancies for Senior Advisors, physiotherapy roles are available in North Brisbane/Sunshine Coast (temporary), Toowoomba and Darling Downs (permanent) and Southern Brisbane (temporary).
- As the Senior Advisor Physiotherapy you will lead a team of school-based and supervisory physiotherapists.
- You will provide strategic advice on policy development and implementation related to the physiotherapy services of your team.
- You will participate as a member of a statewide team contributing to the development of statewide programs, policies, operational standards and procedures to support physiotherapy services throughout the state.
- You will report to the Statewide Clinical Manager, Physiotherapy.
- Suitable candidates identified through this process may be eligible to be considered for any additional Senior Advisor physiotherapy positions within the next 12 months.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and professional supervision to physiotherapists, in collaboration with regional and school management in the delivery of safe, high quality effective services.
- Provide high level expert advice to inform strategic decision making in the development of policies, systems and practices related to physiotherapy services within the region.
- Provide strategic advice to the Director, Therapies and Nursing and Statewide Clinical Manager, Physiotherapy to inform strategic decision making on statewide physiotherapy service provision which enables the achievement of the department's Strategic Plan.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration networks with state schools within the region and with other regions, and with other relevant agencies and stakeholders such as other government departments and relevant professional bodies to achieve positive educational outcomes.
About You:
- Very high level of knowledge (or the ability to quickly acquire high level knowledge) of physiotherapy services in an educational context.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work across a number of multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to lead and manage a team working across a range of geographically diverse locations in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
