Senior Advisor RTW & Compensation Management (Full Time, Permanent)

We are seeking a Senior Advisor RTW & Compensation Management to provide specialist advice, planning and implementing best practice strategies and initiatives for the management of claims and complex injuries to optimise health outcomes for injured employees and minimise costs to Ambulance Victoria.
This is a Full Time, Permanent position currently based at Doncaster Headquarters with WFH/Hybrid options available.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Recovery, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Lead a collaborative approach with key with internal and external stakeholders including AV's Authorised WorkSafe Agent to strategically develop, implement and report on safe and sustainable return to work outcomes and claims management strategies
- Research, investigate and provide specialist advice in relation to strategic claims and injury management
- Undertake project and portfolio responsibilities to drive improved organisational performance from a claims and return to work perspective in accordance with Ambulance Victoria's Health and Safety Action Plan
- Provide leadership and coaching/mentoring of the Claim Coordinator function to support knowledge sharing to build internal capabilities and ensure the team is working cohesively, consistently and in accordance with AV's policies, procedures and legislative requirements
About you
To be considered for this position you will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Rehabilitation, Workcover Management, Human Resource Management, other related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in providing advice in relation to strategic claims and injury management
- Leadership experience, with excellent written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant ethical protocols, legal considerations, medical terminology, and confidentiality in accordance with the relevant legislation such as the WIRC Act 2013, and FOI Act 1982
- Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive people related issues in a public or health sector environment
- Proven skills and demonstrated success in managing complex and/or high risk projects with multiple stakeholders
