About the Company
Our client is a private rural retail and service business supplying all seed, chemical, fertiliser and animal production requirements as well as general merchandise, fencing, and grain storage/handling equipment.
About the role
To be the leader of the Field Services team and operate within the whole business in a leadership and mentor position, developing and empowering other agronomists, graduates and employees within the whole business.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a farming client base and facilitate agronomy services
- Create demand through applying in-depth technical knowledge of crops and input products; their applications, benefits, and agronomic advantages
- Create and continually improve crop & pasture plans for clients
- Communicate with employees, peers, suppliers and industry resources to ensure knowledge base is extensive
- Leadership Field services team – encouraging team mindset for all business activities and teams
Education / Experience / Skills
- Technical and Industry skills: 5 - 15 years practical experience or more in commercial agronomy role
- Preferred - Tertiary qualification in related field, such as: B Ag Sci, B App Sci (Ag) or demonstrated equivalent essential
- Forklift licence, Agsafe accreditation
- Sound knowledge of high rainfall cropping and pasture farming systems
- Demonstrated experience and ability in leadership, communication, record keeping, and client management skills
