BG&C (Business Governance & Controls) is ANZ’s Control Officer role in our Non-Financial Risk Framework. It is one of Seven critical accountability families across the Three Lines of Defence that operate within the Group Risk Management Framework to ensure ANZ manages non-financial risk within appetite.
The Senior Analyst for Business Governance & Controls plays a key role within the Manila Group Capability Centre (GCC) supporting Institutional BGC – Markets Controls, reporting to the Business Governance & Controls Manager – Service Centre Support Functions). This role will be responsible for:
- Fostering strong working relationships with business partners reflecting a 'centre of expertise' for control testing
- Proactively providing the business with advice and insight in relation to control deficiencies to improve the overall design and operation of the control environment.
- Working collaboratively with the risk owner or control owner to develop appropriate remediation plans to address control deficiencies with a commercially sound risk-balanced solutions
- Understanding the I.AM (Identify, Monitor, Act) Framework specifically in relation to key controls, key control testing and remediation.
- Identifying, documenting, and assessing controls and assurance activities relied upon to mitigate key risks in accordance with the group wide Operational Risk framework.
- Performing design and operational effectiveness testing in line with the Markets and I.AM control testing approach
- Where tangible control deficiencies are identified, working with respective business stakeholders to provide guidance and advice on appropriate remediation activities needed.
This role is a 1st line risk role and will be required to work closely with the other 1st line Advisory Teams and Control Owners.
Role Location: Solaris One (Makati) or MDC 100 (Eastwood, Quezon City) (note: while the role may be located in either Makati or Quezon City, training will be held in Makati)

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Exposure and strong knowledge of in a 1st, 2nd line Operational Risk role
Good knowledge of control assurance lifecycle and/or audit
Relevant experience in the banking and financial services sector (I.e. Financial Markets)
Aspiration and curiosity for developing your Non-Financial Risk knowledge
Attention to detail and proven problem solving capability
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
An initiative-taker and ability to plan and execute on required testing autonomously
Understanding of ANZ’s Institutional Business structure and function
Familiarity with the I.AM Amplified transformation in progress
Understanding of risk within Markets and its supporting function
Exposure to the regulatory landscape that Markets operate in
