The Senior Animal Attendant position has been established to ensure high standards of animal wellbeing are maintained for all animals in the care of RSPCA NSW. This role is responsible for ensuring that a range of Animal Care duties are undertaken to the highest level and information is provided to members of the public regarding animal care.
In addition to standard Animal Attendant duties, the Senior Animal Attendant is responsible for training and induction of new staff members and volunteers and higher duties regarding Animal Care.
The successful candidate will be required to work weekends and some public holidays.

About the Role
- Ensure the wellbeing of animals in the care of RSPCA NSW by proactively providing high quality care and managing their behaviour
- Animal care duties including administering medication, providing enrichment and exercise, feeding, observing the animals for injury and illness and assist with veterinary examinations
- Learning how to perform and assist with euthanasia
- Monitor animal behaviour and escalate concerns to management as required
- Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and disease control
- Providing members of the public with accurate advice on Animal Care and wellbeing
About You
- Certificate II Animal Care or similar, essential
- Certified Microchip Implanter, desirable
- Euthanasia administration certification
- Unrestricted drivers licence
- Previous animal handling experience
- Professional customer service experience
- Ability to collaborate within a team
- High levels of communication and interpersonal skills
