Our client, a large, scientific and weather focused, Federal Government Organisation, are Seeking the experience of a Senior Application Developer, located in Docklands, Melbourne.
Responsibilities:
- Providing IT support to develop, test, document, maintain and deploy weather radar data processing and archiving systems and meteorological observation data retrieval and reporting systems.
- Contributing to the improvement of systems and procedures for managing software development to ensure a system-wide integration of new and existing applications and effective software development and maintenance practices.
- Contributing to software changes as required.
- Supporting systems when faults are discovered.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining software in a Linux environment including using Java, SQL, and BASH.
- Experience with C/C++ and scripting languages such as Perl and Python is desirable.
- Experience with radar data and algorithms is desirable.
- Experience with revision control systems such as git and gitlab.
- Ability to manage a backlog of work using an issue management system such as Jira, Gitlab or Cherwell.
