The Administrative Appeals Tribunal is looking for a Senior Applications Developer to join our supportive, friendly, and collaborative Enterprise Technology Group team. 

This role can be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, or Perth.

The position is initially non ongoing for a period of 12 months with opportunities for ongoing.

Remuneration: The salary range for the position is EL1: $113,357 - $133,423 p.a., plus a generous employer contribution of 15.4% superannuation applies.

About the opportunity:

As the Senior Applications Developer you will provide ongoing support and development for business-critical systems in the context of the AAT’s multi-year program to replace its Case Management Systems (CMS). The role will support the achievement of the goals and outcomes of ETG’s program of work, delivering definitive benefits realisation from development activities.

The Enterprise Technology Groups (ETG) Senior Applications Developer provides development and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of the AAT’s ICT strategy and strategic goals of current systems.

The role provides an opportunity for quality hands on development work and continuous delivery in an agile environment. The role will deliver well-reasoned, structured, and definitive insights into modern ICT development practices, enabling establishment of a high performing internal development capability, by supporting, mentoring, defining and implementing industry standard aligned best practices.

About you:

To be successful you will have:

  • Demonstrated capability to take technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of software development.
  • Experience in adapting and developing new organisational capabilities.
  • Experience driving adoption of, and adherence to, policies, standards, guidelines, and methods for system design.
  • Experience in the selection and development of software design methods, tools and techniques and evaluating software designs (to ensure adherence to standards, functionality, quality, security and systems management requirements).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in specifying and designing large or complex software applications, components and modules.
  • A strong ability and willingness to adapt to change.
  • A track record of delivering against set timeframes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Vocational certification in modern development certifications (Microsoft, Azure, AWS, etc) and modern technology approaches are highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will ideally have a degree or post graduate degree in information, technology, management and/or related disciplines.

Mandatory: 

  • Hold or be able to attain Baseline Security Clearance or higher.

Position Eligibility Requirements:

The AAT requires Australian Citizenship as a condition of engagement.

All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and health assessment.
