The role
Our fabulous Environment Team is growing with a wide range of interesting projects in the Contaminated Sites team. We are seeking a talented Senior Associate Environmental Scientist, Contaminated Sites to join our Environment team based in Melbourne or Geelong.
With a minimum of 12+ years' experience, you will play a key role in:
- Ensuring that technical tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.
- Applying project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplishing project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships internally and externally and contribute to effective client relationship management.
- Contributing to the commercial success of projects and the team.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science/engineering or related discipline (e.g. geology, chemistry)
- Experience in field investigation design and project management
- Ideally with a strong background in soil and/or groundwater assessment
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills
- Able to operate independently and as part of a team
- Experience in client relationship management
- Experience in the waste/landfill sector will be favorably viewed
- Familiar with relevant Victorian environmental legislation (particularly the Environment Protection Act 2017)
