The role:
As Senior Associate you’ll play an integral role in revenue generation, management and continuing development of the Bills, Repo and Collateral Trading team.
On a daily basis, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Actively assist senior traders in the risk management of the Bills, Repo and Collateral trading books
- Help optimise product delivery and analytics in collaboration with senior traders, Quantitative Research, Calypso/Murex and eTrading teams
- Work collaboratively with other Markets teams, Treasury, Legal, Tech and Ops teams to support and promote NAB products and capabilities
- Manage desks projects to advance the business processes and procedures
- Ensure the desk is in operating in line with relevant procedures are defined and in place
- Ensure that all transactions and activities fall within the Market Risk and Regulatory frameworks of the business
- Comply with the law and all applicable compliance obligations relevant to the position holder’s existing work responsibilities, duties, work practices and conduct
- Conform with all internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.
What you’ll bring:
- A developing breadth of understanding of the key dynamics and influences of Interest Rates and FX and financial markets
- A background in trading or significant front office exposure (preferred)
Solid excel and data analytics skills with programming experience preferably in Python - A strong quantitative background, preferably with a 2:1 or higher degree in a mathematical based subject
- A calm, level-headed temperament, with the ability to work under pressure in a front office environment, where a consistently high level of diligence, accuracy and responsiveness is crucial
- A commitment to self drive and initiative required to tackle a steep learning curve
- Proactivity to problem solving the challenges facing themselves and the team
- Have a commercial tolerance for risk
Strong communication skills with writing, speaking, presenting, facilitating, interviewing - A commitment to risk management, analytical reasoning, numeracy, planning, and programming.
