  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super 

Valuation NSW is actively seeking a Senior Audit and Compliance Officer to join our newly established Privacy & Data team. This pivotal role involves conducting comprehensive audits of data sharing arrangements, internal processes and controls to ensure compliance with legislated privacy obligations.  

You will play a vital role in developing and implementing audits to safeguard citizen information during the release of agency data. Additionally, you will contribute to the design and delivery of frameworks to monitor ongoing compliance and audit activities. The role also includes interpreting and communicating Audit and monitoring results to enhance compliance, inform decision-making and manage risk, and identify trends, patterns, and concerns.

About you 

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in auditing and monitoring of information management and privacy, with a a deep understanding of data privacy compliance best practices. 

You should have a comprehensive knowledge of compliance audit methodologies, and experience in conducting privacy and data protection audits, as well as establishing monitoring frameworks.  A strong understanding of privacy laws, regulations and industry standards will be highly regarded. 

You will also possess a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills to identify and address privacy-related issues or concerns. 

About Us 

Valuation NSW (VNSW) provides services to, supports, and where appropriately delegated, delivers relevant functions on behalf of the Valuer General of NSW. 

This includes: 

  • Defining and setting the standards and policies for the land valuation system for rating and taxation purposes along with the determination of compensations through the compulsory acquisition process to ensure integrity within the NSW Government is upheld. 
  • Making valuations as well as monitoring, assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991. 
  • Completing land valuations and determinations of compensation; and 
  • Providing other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations as and when required for other cluster or state-wide government partners.
