We are currently looking for an engineer to join our Regulatory & Compliance team. The team is responsible for regulatory reporting and compliance support services to enable ANZ to comply with its regulatory obligations. 


Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Automation Engineer in Test, you will act as a validation and quality assurance expert and review the functionality of existing systems. You will conduct requirement analysis, define test strategy & design and lead execution to guarantee superior outcomes.  You will also be required to design an optimal test solutions and environments to simulate real-time and batch scenarios. You will closely work with the business & technical analysts, developers and be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that define and test changes on the Regulatory & Compliance technology platforms.

What will your day look like

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify risks early and improve quality by promoting culture of test early and test often
  • Understanding business needs and ensuring tests cases are designed to meet acceptance criteria
  • Review team deliverables and ensure QA practices are in compliance with ANZ Delivery Framework, Audit requirements and Testing Centre of Excellence best practices
  • Designing test approaches and optimizing test execution across functional and non-functional coverage
  • Build test automation capability / increase test automation coverage with an intent to continuously improve test outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions to perform more effective and efficient testing
  • Ensuring the necessary hygiene and traceability for test case creation, script creation, test execution and defect logging in a tool system
  • Create acceptance criteria and provide estimates for their work

What will you bring?

  • Extensive experience working in the areas of Java development, open-source test automation tools, Junit, and Maven
  • Extensive experience in software Test automation tools and working in fast-paced Agile Environments
  • Extensive experience working in Behaviour-driven development (BDD) tools - Cucumber and / or JBehave
  • Proficiency in relational database models, SQL queries, XML data models
  • Experience developing modular, extensible, re-useable components as part of a broad architecture
  • Strong experience in testing XML SOAP, RESTful web APIs
  • Strong experience in creating end to end CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous delivery) solutions using tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Team city, Dockers and containerisation tools
  • Influence Analysts and Engineers to have a testing mindset by contributing to and / or supporting analysis and design activities
  • Experiences in JIRA and Atlassian tools and integrating them to automation testing framework is a plus
  • Basic understanding of Data Architecture within Financial Markets – Instruments, Trades, Positions, Risk, Cash Flows etcs is a plus.
