Position OverviewYou will be an integral part of our team, ensuring that our equipment operates at maximum efficiency. As a Senior Automation & Robotics Technician you will be responsible for service and support of our automated robotic equipment. This includes all phases of a project including installation, commissioning, handover, ongoing maintenance, and breakdown support. The role is hands-on and requires an electromechanical mindset to perform the service work and troubleshooting required. There will be local and international travel required as part of the role, including ad-hoc periods of remote site work, however it will be primarily Perth based.
The role is client facing, so good communication skills and a friendly demeanour is essential. We are ultimately looking for a candidate who can eventually lead our technical department as we grow the team in the future.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of automation and robotics systems across the whole project lifecycle.
- Use of hand tools
- Document creation including service reports, JHA’s, risk assessments, emails etc.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in automation and robotics technology.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners when necessary.
- Right to live and work full-time in Australia.
- C-class driver’s license and own reliable transport
- Relevant degree or experience in Engineering, Robotics, or a technical related field.
- 8+ years of proven experience in implementing and maintaining automation and robotics systems.
- In-depth knowledge of PLC programming and industrial control systems.
- Experience with robotic simulation and modelling software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
- Strong IT skills including experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office / SharePoint
