Senior Scada Engineer - Hv Substations Automation

The SAGE Energy Team, WA is seeking an accomplished Senior SCADA Engineer - HV Substations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in HV substation automation, including design, development/configuration, testing, and commissioning.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in the Power sector in a technical delivery role,
• Experince working with GE D20 RTU's and Eaton Gateway / Eaton SMP substation automation platform,
• Working knowledge of IEC 61850 Standard in Substation Automation Design,
• and will have 10+ years experience in a technical leadership / Senior Engineer role.

Key responsibilities

• Consulting with the Client regarding Substation SCADA, Control & Communications Network solutions and Standards.
• Engineering of Substation SCADA systems including configuration
• Testing of the SCADA systems according to industry standards and customer requirements
• Configuration and Commissioning of SCADA systems and equipment. HMI, RTU's, Switches & Routers.

Essential skills and experience

• 5 + years' experience in any of the following: design, development/configuration, testing & commissioning of HV substation automation.
• Senior Engineer/Technical leader, with over 10 years of experience.
• Have experience and competency in the configuration and commissioning of with HV substation gateway, RTU and/or PLC, HMIs & network equipment, including ABB, Eaton, SEL, GE Grid, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Cisco.
• Have site commissioning experience working with HV substation automation.
• Knowledge and experience of HV substation protection systems & schemes are an advantage - IED Protection Relay configuration etc.
• Knowledge and experience of substation protocols DNP3 and Modbus is essential coupled with knowledge of IEC60870-5-104 and IEC61850 (MMS & GOOSE) standard in Substation Automation Design.
• Network and Cybersecurity expertise in as advantage.

Key requirements

• Relevant Engineering Degree.
• Australian drivers licence
• You will need to be an Australian Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Security Clearance
