Senior Back End Developer

The Role:

TIG Freight is seeking 2 experienced Senior Back End Developers to join the Engineering & IT team.

The Senior Back End Developer will drive the solution design and implementation for TIG Freight and will be an integral part of the Engineering team.

Working within a team of Development Leads and Front End Developers, this role will implement Back End code for our new platform.

To succeed in this role, you will be a strong hands on contributor with excellent Node.js (Typescript) skills.

You will have a detailed understanding of modern javascript based web systems, and be able to lead and direct a team of front and Back End Developers to deliver systems functionality end to end.

Role duties:

• Provide thought leadership on systems design and delivery.
• Work with Development Leads to design software modules and break down for delivery by your squad.
• Produce high quality code meeting business requirements.
• Review squad's code contributions ensuring they meet coding standards.
• Ensure your squad meet their delivery timelines.

Your Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field.
• At least 5 years' experience as a Developer in a commercial environment
• Strong experience with Nest.js, Node, Typescript or similar.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar database management system.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (CircleCI, Github Actions).
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with tools & processes such as continuous integration, Github, git, Jira, and Confluence.
