Role:
As a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, you'll be empowered to manage your own diary, providing support to NDIS participants in Cheltenham, Frankston, and surrounding suburbs.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive functional behavior assessments for individuals exhibiting behaviors of concern. Using a Positive Behaviour Support Framework, you will develop therapeutic interventions to reduce the intensity or frequency of these behaviors.
Managing a caseload, you will play a pivotal role in delivering behavior support services aligned with the NDIS safeguards framework. This involves implementing functional behavior analysis, crafting behavior support plans, and providing training to professionals and families.
Additionally, the role offers the unique opportunity to build lasting relationships with participants, witnessing their situations improve over time. You will also contribute to the development and support of Behaviour Support Practitioners and students.
Criteria:
- Tertiary degree with relevant experience and eligibility for AASW membership, AHPRA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in providing positive behavior support services.
- Eligible to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission as a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Clear understanding and experience in supervising staff working with high-risk, complex clients with behaviors of concern.
- Ability to manage challenging situations.
- Immediate availability for the role.
- Willingness to travel around Melbourne, with offices in Cheltenham and Frankston.
- Current VIC Driver's License and own vehicle required.
- COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.
- Current Police Check, Working with Children's Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check are essential.
