About the role As a Senior Biosecurity Officer, you will be both in the field and in the office as you: Lead, manage, and coordinate daily biosecurity program delivery and advisory services. Guide a team of Biosecurity Officers and Pest Animal Controllers, offering support and direction. Coordinate operational projects, including biosecurity surveillance, pest animal control, and disease investigations. Ensure compliance with legislated biosecurity obligations for pest and disease management, livestock, and plant traceability. Provide support during emergencies within the Agriculture and Animal Services Functional Area. Collaborate with various LLS teams to deliver integrated customer-focused advice, projects, and services. Engage with stakeholders to raise awareness of biosecurity issues, including landholders, community groups, and government agencies. Deliver and coordinate training for landholders on best practices for pest management controls. About You With a comprehensive understanding of invasive pest management and compliance related to the Biosecurity Act 2015 and the Local Land Services Act 2013, you possess the ability to translate priorities into effective field programs. As a subject matter expert in biosecurity, particularly in pest animal control, you serve as a reference point for the team in decision-making and guidance. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and investors, implementing legislative requirements across a range of activities in a dynamic environment.This is a role for someone who loves being in the field and working with people and animals, and to be successful you’ll need to have: A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or the ability and willingness to successfully complete it Appropriate qualifications (minimum AQF3 level) and knowledge relevant to pesticide application The capacity to hold an NSW firearms licence or equivalent, as well as obtain the Statement of Attainment - Use firearms to humanely destroy animals (AQF AHCVPT203A or AHCPMG304) and be willing to humanely euthanise…
