About the position Narromine Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant for the position of Biosecurity Officer - Weeds. The objective of this position is to contribute to the overall effectiveness of Council by carrying out effective identification, control, suppression and destruction of noxious plants in a safe and efficient manner. The Biosecurity Officer – Weeds would be expected to provide and maintain a safe work environment, safely and competently operate Council Plant and Equipment as required and promote and maintain a positive image of council to the community. To be successful in this position you will need to have: Thorough knowledge of the relevant legislations. Thorough knowledge of weed and pest recognition Proficient written and verbal communication skills Thorough knowledge and understanding of WHS requirements. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to undertake risk assessments. Ability to work unsupervised. Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence.
