In this role you will be primarily dealing with development work involving residential, commercial and major urban corridor development and including undertaking all relevant assessment, inspection and compliance duties in accordance with the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and other relevant legislation.This role provides opportunity to coordinate major developments undertaken within the City of Unley by acting as a single point of contact to internal and external stakeholders. The objective of this function is to establish and maintain high-level professional relationships that will result in coordinated project delivery and successful outcomes for our community and developers and affiliated professionalsIn this role you will be responsible for: Undertaking building assessments of development applications in accordance with legislative requirements of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, National Construction Code series and referenced Australian Standards. Act as Councils single point of contact for major developments undertaken within the City of Unley. Undertaking inspections and ensuring compliance of building work and swimming pools in accordance with the requirements of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, Practice directions 8 & 9 and applicable Australian Standards, focusing on but not limited to inspections relevant to Level 1 (or 2) Building qualifications of the role. Provide high-level customer support and services in line with the organisational customer service expectations and standards. Provide timely, professional written and verbal advice to all stakeholders regarding building and development matters. Support the Team Leader Building and Health in the day-to-day operations of the building team. Provide efficient and effective end-to-end services and deliver successful community outcomes relating to building services. Attend and represent Council in the ERD Court as an expert witness or Council representative regarding building compliance matters as required. Demonstrate the City of Unley values and leadership attributes when working with others and the community. Some work outside Ordinary Hours may be required.About you…To succeed in this role, you will have: Extensive experience in development assessment, inspection and compliance functions with a willingness and drive to deliver high level customer service. You will be a team player willing to pitch in when circumstances present themselves, focused on achieving positive outcomes with an ability to work autonomously when required.
