Greenstock is Woolworths's end-to-end multi-channel red meat business,combining deep industry expertise with advanced analytics to deliver high quality and sustainable beef, lamb and pork to Woolworth's existing and new sales channels in Retail, Food Services, Wholesale and International.
Greenstock was established with the following aims. * Evolve the Business from a traditional commercial retail model to a strategic multi-channel, multi-species dynamic, agile and strongly commercial protein specialist known for its leading product range, brand, quality, sustainability and welfare.
- Invest in new capabilities and capacity to support and drive customer-centric growth and build strong partnerships. Enable Channels to deliver on customer experience, scalable solutions, live animal specifications, carcase optimisation and margin accretive growth.
- Partner more broadly across the ecosystem to unlock opportunities; enhance Greenstock's offer; adopt an agile & value chain mindset, and enhance planning rhythms to co-create a business for the future.
- To lead the future of protein through reimagining and reinventing what agriculture looks like and Greenstock's role in leading industry sustainability, welfare and quality alongside delivering to the customer.
The role
The Senior Business Analyst (Finance) operates within the “Buy” phase of Greenstock's business cycle and will support the delivery of key strategic goals through raw material sourcing, the delivery of sustainability initiatives, and profit and growth maximisation through new livestock models and trading. This role will track key performance measures, provide post decision and performance insights while ensuring strong general ledger integrity and controls across both the balance sheet and P&L.
Key responsibilities
- Provide financial support with respect to:
- The procurement of supplementary primals including price and volume trending analysis and inflation
- The trading of fallout meat through revenue and cost analysis to support profit maximising plus understanding prices over time and market movements
- The setting of annual budget targets and monthly forecasts
- Inventory management, reporting and governance
- ROI analysis on livestock model and other sourcing decisions
- Supporting the short term sales & operations planning (S&OP) process
- Modelling and analysis, using the short term demand, to determine the right balance between livestock sourcing and supplementary primals
- Developing and tracking of key measures
- Supply chain modelling for new sourcing models
- Variance analysis to support end to end reporting requirements - explain key movements vs. forecast, budget & comparable period
- Enabling business partner accountability through the right level of engagement and providing meaningful performance reports, analysis and insights
- Overheads management support including budgeting and forecasting
- Ensuring general ledger integrity through robust processes and controls
- Ad-hoc support and partnering with Greenstock Operations, Strategy/Analytics and Finance teams as required

- 5+ years experience Proven business partnering skills with a strong desire to add commercial value through analysis and insight
- CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification or study towards would be preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or primary industries environment is desirable
- Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to make the complex simple
- Strong presentation and storyboarding skills
- Demonstrated systems skills in SAP, Excel, and exposure to SQL platforms including Google Cloud Platform, Python, MySQL or similar
